In 1981 musicians from California Mike of "Paffi Bordin", Billi Guld, Mike Morris and Uejd Uortington have created group under name Faith No Man. One year later Uortington were replaced with keyboard player Roddi Bottum, and Mike Morris by a nickname the Muzhik (The Man) was expelled, and the group has renamed itself in Faith No More. After the group has tried some vocalists among whom there was also Kortni of Lavas, in 1983 the choice has been stopped on Chake Mosli. In the same year Jim Martin has joined group to replace left guitarist Mark Bouena. After release in 1984 of a demo-cartridge with four songs, the group has started record of the first present album «We Care A Lot» which left in firm Mordam Records in 1985.

Next year the group has signed the contract with firm Slash Records, and in 1987 there was their second album «Introduce Yourself». The round which has followed it has brought Faith No More good responses in the European press, however after its termination the group has been compelled to dismiss Mosli because of its drinking habit, the limited vocal possibilities and constant quarrels with colleagues on group.

As replacement was Mike Patton, the vocalist of group Mr Bungle of the city of Jurika, California is taken. Its nominee was offered by Jim Martin who was heard by demo-cartridge Mr Bungle. Patton joined group in January, 1989. For two weeks he had written texts to songs over which musicians worked, and after half a year there was their new album «The Real Thing». Hide review
