Godsmack - the American rock group, concerning a direction «alt-metal», (though some are inclined to consider their Nu-metabreakage), formed in 1995 in Boston (State of Massachusetts). Prominent feature of sounding of collective — the timbre of a voice of vocalist Sully Erna is similar to a timbre of vocalist Alice in Chains Lane Stejli. The group has let out five albums and one minialbum. All albums, except the first, are published on major label Universal Records and became gold or platinum in the USA.

History Godsmack withdraws us in 1995 when in one not the best day the command of Salli Erny of that time Strip Mind has broken up. After the next failure of Salli felt so disappointed and devastated that long time couldn't even think of returning in music. It has found quite good work, could rent decent apartment and buy the car, but this measured life has quickly bothered it. Though till now of singing of Salli never thought, it has ventured to collect a new command and to incur a role of the vocalist. To help it with this adventure owed art of magic of which the musician was fond seriously and for a long time (it to these masters knowledge of magic under the direction of the present sorcerer). Salli knew drummer Thomas Stewart about the beginnings 90 when Stewart drummed in back-group Lillian Axe which often divided a scene with Strip Mind.
