After Sedrik and the Lobster have left At The Drive-In, before them there was no question on in what they are going to be engaged. They have continued work on for a long time begun project - De Facto. Later, in 2001, having united with drummer John Teodore and bass Eve Gardner, De Facto have made fate - group, now all known as The Mars Volta. Structure TMV some times changed. With 2001 till May, 2002 bassin group was already mentioned Eve Gardner, then it was replaced by Ralf Jasso. keyboard during round of 2002 there was Linda Gud, and somebody Jayson was the bass player during the European round of 2003.

At first group career was not so successful: they have simply failed in the first round in 2001 … But, to tell the truth, though The Mars Volta and have disappointed many, hearts they have won much more. After the following round in April, 2002, The Mars Volta unite with Alex Njuportom to write down the first disk. Leaves «Tremulant» EP and The Mars Volta make silent sceptics. With three songs, 19-minute EP, the let out label of the Lobster (Gold Standard Laboratories) The Mars Volta at last - have become successful and have on the sly started to prepare for record longplay.

In a current of summer of 2002 about The Mars Volta it was not audible at all … But fans didn't believe that their favorite band can here so all to throw. And TMV, really, haven't disappointed admirers. They act on Goldenvoice’s Choachella Valley Festival in May of the same year and at once after that the group is left by Eve.
